His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, participated in the Saudi International Railway Exhibition and Conference 2025, held in Riyadh from October 19 to 20. The high-profile event was hosted under the patronage of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and gathered ministers, industry experts, and global decision-makers in transport and logistics.

During the opening session, His Excellency took part in the high-level ministerial dialogue, which focused on the theme: “Developing National Railway Networks: Aligning Infrastructure Projects with Long-Term Economic Visions.” The session featured participation from ministers across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and other Arab nations, underlining the importance of regional collaboration in the advancement of sustainable transport networks.

In his address, Dr. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the strategic importance of the King Hamad Rail Bridge project, describing it as a transformative step for regional logistics integration. The bridge will connect Bahrain’s upcoming national railway network with that of Saudi Arabia, creating a critical link that supports the Gulf Railway network.

He noted that the King Hamad International Station, envisioned as a major hub in Bahrain, will significantly enhance the Kingdom’s capacity for regional trade, logistics services, and economic diversification. The minister highlighted the project's alignment with Bahrain’s long-term economic vision and its role in strengthening cross-border connectivity and infrastructure synergy within the GCC.

The conference served as a platform to reinforce partnerships and share insights on how modern railway systems can drive economic growth, improve mobility, and contribute to the broader goals of Vision 2030 across the region.
