Bahrain is currently undertaking three major infrastructure projects aimed at improving traffic flow and connectivity across the kingdom. These developments focus on easing congestion in critical areas and strengthening links between major cities.

One of the primary projects involves the construction of a new bridge that will link Shaikh Isa bin Salman Bridge directly to Road 105 in Busaiteen. This addition is expected to significantly streamline traffic entering and exiting the area, offering an alternative route for commuters and reducing pressure on existing roads.

Another major development is the upgrade of the Northern Isa Town Intersection, situated north of the Isa Town Gate. This junction is a strategic traffic hub connecting Riffa, A’ali, Sanad, Salmabad, and Isa Town. The upgrade is specifically designed to ease congestion on the busy Shaikh Salman Highway, a crucial route between Manama and Riffa.

Upon completion, the intersection’s capacity is projected to increase from 12,000 to 22,500 vehicles per day. Key features of this project include the construction of a three-lane flyover in each direction to facilitate uninterrupted traffic flow, as well as improvements to the ground-level road network. This includes upgraded traffic signals, road paving, new sidewalks, improved rainwater drainage, enhanced landscaping, and additional safety measures.

The third major project involves building a new flyover at the Jasra Intersection, further contributing to the national effort to streamline traffic and support economic growth.

The works are being carried out by Al Ghanim International and Almoayyed Contracting, with a total project cost of BHD 22.3 million. Construction is already underway on the bridge linking Shaikh Isa bin Salman Bridge to Road 105, with more updates expected as the project progresses.

These infrastructure upgrades reflect Bahrain’s commitment to modernizing its transport network and improving the daily commute for residents across the country.
