BIC Gears Up for Action-Packed National Race Day Double-Header This Saturday

Manama : Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), known as The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East, is set to host a thrilling weekend of racing action this Saturday with the fourth round of the National Race Day championship.

The event will feature an exciting double-header, as two of Bahrain’s most competitive local racing series  the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC) and Time Attack  take to the 2.554-kilometre Inner Track. Fans will enjoy racing action held in both daylight conditions and under the circuit’s iconic floodlights.

This National Race Day comes just hours after the conclusion of round three of the 2025/2026 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship on BIC’s quarter-mile drag strip, highlighting the circuit’s packed calendar as the new year gets underway.

The event is being organised by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Circuit Racing Commission, and the Bahrain Auto X and Drift Commission.

Track action is scheduled to begin at 10:20am and run until after 6:00pm, with podium ceremonies for both BTCC and Time Attack set for 6:30pm. The event is open to the public, with tickets priced at BD2 for adults and BD1 for children. Tickets can be purchased online at bahraingp.com, via the BIC Hotline on +973 1745 0000, or directly at the gate.

Spectators will be able to enjoy the racing from BIC’s Beyon Grandstand, which offers excellent views of key sections of the Inner Track, including the Inner Straight where the start and finish lines are located.

The BTCC field will begin with its sole practice session at 11:35am, followed by qualifying at 1:25pm. Two 15-lap races will then take place, with race one starting at 3:14pm and race two flagging off at 5:44pm. The championship is expected to be led once again by Ali Almansoori, who has dominated the season so far by winning all six races to date in his Honda Civic.

Meanwhile, Time Attack will feature competition across multiple categories, including SU, UL, MA, SA, MB, and SB. Practice sessions will kick off the day’s programme at 10:20am. Heat one for the SU, UL, and MA classes is scheduled for 12:40pm, followed by heat one for SA, MB, and SB at 2:00pm. Heat two for all categories will take place at 3:50pm.

BIC’s 2025/2026 racing calendar includes seven rounds of National Race Day. Following this weekend’s event, round five will be held on 6 February, round six on 13 March, and the championship finale is scheduled for 24 April.
