Emraan Hashmi’s rugged look from Awarapan 2 leaks online, prompts tighter set security
In late December 2025, unauthorized photos and videos from the Rajasthan sets of Awarapan 2 surfaced online, offering fans their first glimpse of Emraan Hashmi’s dramatic transformation for the much-awaited sequel. The leaked visuals quickly went viral, sparking intense discussion across social media platforms and fan forums.
The leaked footage reveals a noticeably grittier and more rugged version of Hashmi’s iconic character, Shivam Pandit. Sporting long, wavy, shoulder-length hair, the actor is seen dressed in an all-black outfit complemented by a dark scarf and his signature sunglasses. Fans have described the look as “noir-inspired,” hinting at a darker, battle-worn, and emotionally hardened arc compared to the character seen in the original 2007 film.
The leak prompted swift action from the film’s production team, who moved to tighten security across the remaining shoot. Filming locations in Sambhar, Rajasthan, have reportedly been placed under enhanced security, with restricted zones and cordoned-off areas introduced to control access.
In addition, the use of mobile phones on set has been strictly prohibited to prevent further unauthorized recordings. Reports also suggest that the shooting schedule has been fast-tracked to stay on course for the film’s planned release, despite the setback caused by the leak.
Awarapan 2 features Emraan Hashmi reprising his cult-favorite role, alongside Disha Patani as the female lead and Shabana Azmi in the role of the antagonist. The film is directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt, continuing the legacy of the original while promising a more intense and evolved narrative.
The sequel is officially slated for a theatrical release on April 3, 2026, coinciding with Good Friday. With the leaked visuals already fueling anticipation, Awarapan 2 is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched Bollywood releases of 2026.
