Qatar announces Eid Al Fitr holiday for government sector from March 17 to 23
Qatar has announced the official Eid Al Fitr holiday schedule for government entities, with the break set to begin on March 17 and continue until March 23, 2026. In a statement, the Amiri Diwan said the holiday will apply to ministries, government bodies, public authorities, and other state institutions across the country.
Employees working in these entities are expected to resume their duties on March 24, once the holiday period concludes. The announcement comes as Qatar prepares for the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan and is one of the most significant festivals in the Islamic calendar.
The Amiri Diwan also clarified that the holiday arrangements for financial institutions will be announced separately.
According to the statement, the holiday period for the Qatar Central Bank, banks, and financial institutions regulated by the central bank, as well as the Qatar Financial Markets Authority and entities operating under its supervision, will be determined by the Governor of the Qatar Central Bank.
Eid Al Fitr is widely celebrated across Qatar and the Gulf region with special prayers, family gatherings, festive meals, and charitable activities as communities come together to mark the end of Ramadan.
