Bahrain air defenses intercept 105 ballistic missiles and 176 drones amid Iranian attacks
The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) has announced that its air defense systems have continued to successfully intercept successive waves of attacks linked to Iranian aggression targeting the Kingdom.
Since the start of hostilities, BDF forces have intercepted and destroyed 105 ballistic missiles and 176 unmanned aerial vehicles that were directed toward Bahrain, according to the Bahrain News Agency.
The military said the interceptions were carried out as part of ongoing defensive operations to protect the kingdom’s airspace and safeguard civilian infrastructure.
In a statement, the General Command stressed that targeting civilian sites and private property with ballistic missiles and drones represents a clear violation of international humanitarian law as well as the United Nations Charter.
Authorities warned that such indiscriminate attacks pose a serious threat to regional stability and security across the Middle East.
The BDF reaffirmed its readiness to continue defending Bahrain’s sovereignty and protecting the safety of residents, while maintaining high operational readiness to respond to any further threats directed at the kingdom.
