Dubai Tests Self-Driving Cleaning Vehicles on Beach Paths

Dubai Municipality has launched pilot trials of a self-driving electric cleaning vehicle aimed at maintaining bicycle tracks and public spaces along Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim beaches. The initiative reflects Dubai’s ongoing commitment to smart city solutions that enhance public hygiene while improving the experience for residents and visitors at popular coastal destinations.
The autonomous sweeper is equipped with advanced smart sensors that allow it to detect obstacles and navigate beach pathways safely and efficiently. By operating without a driver, the vehicle can maintain consistent cleaning schedules while reducing operational costs and human workload.
