Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed Inspects Dubai International Airport Amid Record Passenger Growth

Dubai, October 2025 – Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Border Security Council, conducted a site inspection of Dubai International Airport (DXB) to assess how government agencies are adapting to growing passenger numbers and to review operational standards.
During the visit, Sheikh Mansoor was accompanied by senior officials as he toured key airport functions managed by Dubai Police, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai Customs, and the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority. He emphasised that close coordination and efficient processes are essential to maintaining Dubai’s global leadership in aviation safety and passenger management. Rapid customs throughput, he noted, is central to sustaining the city’s competitive edge.
Dubai International Airport recorded a 2.3% increase in passenger traffic, reaching 46 million in the first half of 2025, marking the busiest six months in its history. January alone saw 8.5 million passengers, reflecting a strong rebound in international travel and a busy calendar of events. Forecasts suggest traffic will continue to grow, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub.
Sheikh Mansoor credited the emirate’s success to the strategic vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, highlighting leadership as key to operational excellence and innovation in the aviation sector.
He also stressed the importance of digital tools and inter-agency collaboration, noting that Dubai’s achievements stem from effective partnerships and the rapid deployment of next-generation digital solutions. Investment in advanced technologies and modern working practices remains a priority to ensure safety, operational efficiency, and passenger satisfaction.
The inspection underscores Dubai’s ongoing commitment to maintaining world-class aviation standards, supporting its role as a premier hub for international travel, commerce, and logistics under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
