Primark Opens First Middle East Store in Kuwait in Partnership with Alshaya Group
Kuwait: International fashion retailer Primark has officially opened its first store in the Middle East at The Avenues, Kuwait, marking the brand’s 18th international market entry. The launch is part of a strategic partnership with leading retail franchise operator Alshaya Group.
The flagship store spans over 60,000 sq. ft across two floors and will employ 350 staff, offering shoppers a wide range of womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, home, and beauty products. Many Kuwaiti customers, familiar with the Primark brand in Europe, can now enjoy its affordable fashion and essentials without traveling abroad.
The store also features exclusive collaborations with Disney and Spanish influencer Paula Echevarria, along with the premium The Edit range, catering to men, women, home, and younger kids.
Eoin Tonge, Primark Interim CEO, said: “We are delighted to open in Kuwait’s The Avenues, marking our first store in the Middle East. With Alshaya’s market expertise and our distinctive value proposition, today represents an exciting new growth chapter.”
John Hadden, CEO of Alshaya Group, added: “The response from Kuwait has been amazing. Today marks the beginning of bringing this most anticipated brand to shoppers across the region.”
Following Kuwait, Primark and Alshaya plan to open three stores in Dubai in 2026, starting with Dubai Mall in March, followed by City Centre Mirdif and Mall of the Emirates. Primark currently operates 475 stores across 18 countries and is set to expand further, including a flagship store in Manhattan, New York, in 2026.
