World-First Personal Robocar to Debut in Dubai at 2025 Self-Driving Transport Congress

Tensor, a leading AI-driven mobility company, is set to debut the world’s first personal autonomous Robocar at the Dubai World Congress for Self-Driving Transport 2025, positioning the UAE at the forefront of global mobility innovation. Unlike conventional electric vehicles adapted for autonomy, the Tensor Robocar is a purpose-built, Level 4 self-driving vehicle, designed from the ground up for individual ownership rather than fleet operations.

The Dubai reveal will mark Tensor’s first public appearance in the Middle East, showcasing a technological leap in private mobility. Customer deliveries are expected to begin in the second half of 2026, with Dubai playing a central role in early deployment and adoption.

The Robocar features a cutting-edge sensor suite of over 100 integrated sensors, including 37 cameras, 5 lidars, and 11 radars, offering complete situational awareness and built-in fail-operational redundancy for power, control, and communications. It is powered by the Tensor Foundation Model, which uses real-world and synthetic data, Transformer-based architecture, and advanced sensor fusion to make complex, human-like driving decisions.

“This isn’t a concept it’s the world’s first real personal Robocar,” said Amy Luca, CMO of Tensor. “Dubai is the perfect place to showcase this innovation, as it represents a future-forward vision for transport.”

The Robocar uses a dual-AI system that mirrors human cognition. "System 1" handles rapid reflexes and emergency reactions, while "System 2" processes edge cases using multimodal reasoning, allowing it to perform in environments where most autonomous systems fail.

Key self-reliant features include autonomous parking and charging, intelligent sensor cleaning for harsh desert conditions, continuous offline diagnostics, and a privacy-first data architecture with encrypted local storage, physical privacy controls like camera shutters, and mic kill-switches.

Tensor’s vehicle meets or exceeds the world’s top safety standards, aiming for certifications from FMVSS, UN/ECE, GSO, and top-tier crash ratings like IIHS Top Safety Pick+, Euro NCAP, and US NCAP 5-Star.

Strategic partnerships include Nvidia (onboard computing power with 8,000 TOPS), Sony (17MP vision systems), VinFast (vehicle manufacturing), Oracle (cloud infrastructure), and Marsh, which is developing the world’s first Robocar-specific insurance policy.

Standout innovations include:

  • The first agentic AI personal Robocar

  • Dual mode operation (manual or autonomous)

  • Foldable steering wheel and sliding digital display

  • Fully privacy-by-design architecture

As the world moves toward smarter, safer, and more autonomous mobility, Tensor’s Robocar is not just a showcase of future tech it’s a near-term reality. With Dubai taking center stage, this launch signals a new era where personal autonomous vehicles may soon become mainstream.
